The Otterhayes Trust
Learning for Life
Otterhayes Trust is a group of houses and units for people with learning disabilities where they can live and be cared for and supported in their home by the Trust through a 24 hour period giving each person the opportunity to learn life skills needed to live independently and grow in self confidence. The Trust restricts its applications to those men and women with learning disabilities between the ages of 18 and 45 years, but does not consider people with severe challenging or psychiatric behaviours or needing nursing care. People with some physical disabilities or sensory disabilities and mild behaviours will be considered and referrals will be accepted from local authorities, health authorities, relatives or self / private.
The Trust provides accommodation and care for as long as deemed to be appropriate. In its present format it provides care for eight people in the main house, and support for ten in five separate units, all with their own facilities.
However, as opinions and needs change the Trust will endeavour to change and adjust such changes for the benefit for all.
